Problem
Online furniture buyers struggle with "spatial anxiety".
As an online shopper, I’ve noticed how easy it is to find beautiful furniture online, yet we hesitate to hit purchase. We fail to complete our orders because it is nearly impossible to judge true scale, lighting, or room compatibility from a standard website product photo.

I completely overthrew the chaotic interface and engineered a premium, digital experience focused on establishing brand authority and conquering visual chaos. By introducing a strict, minimalist identity system and a clean, spacious grid layout, the final design transforms scattered information into an intuitive and scannable experience that builds immediate corporate trust.

The Insight: My y research showed that jumping straight into an empty room visualizer feels confusing. Users want to know exactly what item they are trying to fit before they take the time to set up their room photo.

The Action: I locked the selected item at the very top of the screen before asking for a photo and disabled the “Preview in My Space” button until upload is complete. This keeps the product anchored in the user's mind so the next step feels completely natural.

The Insight: In physical stores, buyers don’t just look at one item in isolation; they constantly walk back and forth, compare alternative colors, and keep a mental lookbook of their choices.

The Action: On the final preview screen, instead of just offering a basic "Add to Cart" button, I introduced a targeted "Adjust your preview" control suite (Move product, Try another color, Compare another item) paired with a "My Spaces" history log. This replicates the physical store comparison experience, letting users save and review different setups to erase post-purchase doubt.

The Insight: In my interviews, users were skeptical of "perfect" digital previews. They worry an item will look totally different under their actual home lighting and lead to a "what I ordered vs. what I got" disappointment.

The Action: I added an "AI-generated preview" badge directly on the image canvas, paired with a clear disclaimer card below it. Acknowledging these real-world lighting shifts upfront actually made users feel more reassured and trusting of the app.

The Proposed Solution.
The final prototype for Cozfort successfully bridges the gap between the physical showroom and online convenience. By pairing an intentional product-first layout with transparent AI tools and an "Adjust & Compare" control suite, the design directly targets and mitigates the "spatial anxiety" that causes cart abandonment.

Outcome & Reflections
What I learned from this experience.
Transparency Builds More Trust Than Perfection: I learned from user interviews that shoppers are highly skeptical of "perfect" online mockups, meaning that adding honest guardrails like the AI tag and lighting disclaimer actually builds far more user confidence than a flawless, unrealistic render.
Constraints Leads to Better Interaction Design: Focusing strictly on the core preview experience taught me how simple, intentional UI constraints like disabling the preview button until the photo upload is complete can seamlessly prevent user error and naturally guide the flow.

OVERVIEW
Cozfort is a mobile furniture marketplace designed to bridge the gap between online convenience and in-store "sizing up." The app allows users to instantly visualize true-to-scale pieces in their actual rooms by casually uploading a static photo of their space eliminating the need for glitchy, real-time live camera AR tools.
